By the way

She had her shoulder-length mousy brown hair tidied up in a loose ponytail with a few strands of her hair falling on her face. She wore a light blue nightgown that had a little cloud stamped on its front pocket and a white pair of slippers her aunt had given her on her twentieth birthday, four years before. She didn't have make-up on her face. She was tired. She hadn't even tidied the house lately and it looked like a hurricane had passed by. But like she usually did, Nymphadora Tonks didn't care.

She had made lemon balm tea and home made chocolate-chip cookies (which she had spent the whole afternoon preparing). Then, she managed to put everything on the metal tray that she had received as a wedding gift from one of the members of the order. It was a shame she didn't remember who because it was a really useful tray and she was extremely grateful to he or she. She would usually bring breakfast in bed on that tray.

She lifted carefully the shinny tray and made her way through the kitchen. She was starting to climb up the stairs, when something, or rather someone, interrupted her.

"Not a good idea"

There he was. Standing in the corridor, with his pajamas and his slippers on. He looked extremely tired and his face was pale as a sheet of paper. He had blood-shot eyes with dark bags under them. He looked as if he had been trying to sleep for a long time, but he couldn't. But for her, he was still the sexiest man on earth.

"What are you doing out of-"

"Yeah, I should ask exactly the same to you"

"Well, first of all I'm not sick"

Ho snorted loudly. "Not yet" he said staring at her intently.

"Whatever, Remus. Just go back to bed, ok? You happen to have a terrible cold and-"

"And that happens to be my favorite mug. And I bet you that its not going to have the long life I expect it to have if you carry it all the way over here"

"I'm not going to break it, you know"

"Yeah, sure. Like you weren't going to spill coffee on my books this morning, or the time that you weren't going to break the portrait that your dad had given me-"

"Ok, I get the point! You take it..." she said, finally defeated. She handed the tray to him and he took it upstairs. He placed it on the bedside table carefully and then turned around to face his wife, who had a sad look on her eyes.

"I just wanted to help..."

He walked to her and hugged her tightly. Then he placed a soft kiss on the top of her head lovingly, regretting having snapped at her before. She just didn't deserve that treat, after all she had been doing for him. "I know Tonks, you already helped me a lot, love. Thank you for that. Sorry I snapped at you, I wasn't thinking clearly. I'm too tired to think straight..."

"Then go back to bed and sleep! Duh." she stated, sarcasm filling her voice.

"It would be easier without the music you put downstairs"

Her eyes went wide. How could he hear her if she had closed all the doors of the kitchen?

"You know, I'm a werewolf, and that implies having much more powerful senses. And that includes... hearing when you listen to music on that muggle thing. How was it called?"

"CD-Player. And it's not just a muggle thing, it's an extremely amusing object, you know"

"I bet it is. What's not extremely amusing is that music that you play when I have a headache the size of England, you know" he said, and limped to the bed. He sat on it, mumbled something and then started giggling. She blushed at her choice of music, so different to his. While he listened to soft and relaxing jazz she preferred hardcore punk.

She sat beside him, and then curled up in a ball. She settled herself for some minutes and then she went still. He just stayed there, watching her lay peacefully. Listening to the pauses that she made between breaths. Smelling her sweet fragance, a mix between lemon, chocolate and vanilla. Caressing and sensing her tender, soft, milky skin.

After all, it hadn't been such a bad idea marrying Tonks. She highlighted his life. His life that had been grey, even black, now was starting to look brighter. He smiled much more often than he had done in the past six years. He wasn't so depressed. He didn't define himself as a "Misanthropic old bastard", he defined himself as "The not so misanthropic, but still old bastard, married to the clumsiness queen, Nymphadora Tonks". That absolutely was a change.

Six full moons had passed by since they married. He had to admit, that his transformations weren't as bad as he thought. They had a sort of ritual together, when he was close to the full moon. She would prepare him extra rare meals, buy a ton of chocolate, watch a movie, and when the time of the transformation came he would lock himself into a room that his father in law had prepared especially for him when he transformed. Surprisingly, Tonks wasn't afraid of him during his full moons, she just waited patiently outside the room, trying to drown out the howling sounds that came from the spare room with some loud music. Probably she wasn't too scared because of a new potion he had found while researching about his condition. It was fairly new, and it was much better that wolfsbane. Not only his transformations didn't hurt, but he was WAY much calmer and relaxed. He talked a lot of his condition with Tonks, mostly because she was very interested in it. She wanted to make all things better and easier for him. He even made jokes about it. Remus John Lupin making jokes about his lycanthropy? That was indeed a big deal.

Her breathing was soft. He was certain that she was in a deep sleep, and when Tonks slept, a Hungarian horntail could come passing by and she wouldn't notice and sometimes, she would mumble things in her sleep like "I've got to clean the dishes" or "I'm going to kill Sirius at any time, he stole my cookie" or even "I know the answer professor! Energy and mass are equivalent and transmutable!".

He was staring at her, thinking of how much he was in love with her, how much he regretted the pain he had caused her, how much he was happy about his marriage.

Suddenly, she lifted her head and looked at him with her eyes wide. She scared him and he gasped.

"By the way, I'm pregnant" she said, and with that, she went back to sleep peacefully in his arm.

He stood there for a minute or so. He focused on the dark, wooden floor. He counted the tiles, one by one, examining carefully its edges and looking for something different. Then reality hit him like cold water on a Sunday morning. He was going to have a baby. Flashes of diapers, baby clothing, cribs and cries. Some young teenager saying "Wotcher dad!" and some adult man very much like him with a baby in his arms saying "Hi dad, could you hold your grandson for a second?". This was huge. He imagined himself playing quidditch. He imagined himself changing diapers. He imagined himself saying "You're grounded" to a kid. He imagined himself giving the eulogy to sexual maturity. He imagined himself, nevertheless, with a kid. A kid of his own. He thought about his lycanthropy. He thought abut his age. He thought about his current state. He thought of what other people thought of him. He thought of millions of reasons why having a baby was a bad idea.

But for once in his life, Remus John Lupin couldn't care less.

Hello, I'm Lu and obviously new to livejournal. Here I'll be posting most of my fanfiction, artwork, poems and some personal stuff. If anyone needs a friend, or someone to talk about, I'm open!

Artwork: As soon as I fix my scanner, I'll try to post some drawings I've made. I'm not exactly an artist, but I must say they came out very good. I'm still working on improving my drawing skills on photoshop, so in the meantime I'll continue with good old paper and pencil.

Fanfiction: My mother tongue is spanish, so bear with me when you read! (I'm looking for a beta reader, anyway). Right now the pairings I follow are Remus Lupin/Nymphadora Tonks and Gregory House/Allison Cameron. I started reading fanfiction two years ago, and I started writing this year so I'm new to the hole writing thing. I'm doing the best I can. Reviews and comments are very much appreciated!

Poems: Most of my poems are in spanish, but I'll try to translate them or make some in English!

Personal Stuff: Exactly. Personal stuff. Something that was floating on my mind for a long time and I decided to write it... not necessarily important but well. Haven't you had that feeling of having to say something? I have it frequently.

So well, like I said before; If anyone needs a friend or someone to talk to, give me a shout! I'm very sociable, humorous and I love getting mail. I also like helping people with stuff. So don't doubt it. Got a problem? Good old Lu will help you solve it!
